Dan Shetler is an assistant coach for the U9 Girls team. After spending a year on the sidelines watching his children play with NHYS, he decided to get involved as a coach. Dan played soccer in high school and college, coached at the middle school level, and co-founded IRIS Futbol Club, a refugee soccer program in New Haven.

As a coach, Dan wants his players to develop a love for the game while building their skills, confidence, and friendships. He encourages his players to trust themselves, play with confidence, compete hard, and understand the importance of working together as a team.

Outside of soccer, Dan works as a data scientist in mental health care. He enjoys hiking with his family, gardening, and woodworking.
